ABOUT
Behind emmsio is Helsinki-based architect Emma Sjöholm. Interested in humanistic design and how we shape emotional attachment to objects and architecture, Emma has focused her reading and analysis in materiality, sometimes converting concrete, timber or even linoleum into characters with personalities and emotions. Following this, she aims to convert her research into handcrafting furniture and architectural projects.
Emma attempts to understand what makes us connect and cherish the spaces, objects and artworks around us to create a more mentally and environmentally sustainable environment. She holds a master’s degree in architecture from Aalto University (2025) and bachelor’s degree from University of Dundee (2021).
